OUR ANNUAL WALK FOR ADRIAN - NECC 4th Annual 5K Walk/Run for Autism
Sol Yas and his wife Susan are walking again to raise money to support research in an effort to find a cure for autism. The Yas family will be out in force, to honor their beautiful grandson, Adrian, and all the other special children afflicted with this disorder. Adrian is a loving and happy boy who is attending public school and performing at grade level. He also attends Hebrew School in preparation for his Bar Mitzvah next year! Please click here to continue...This year as part of SSUA dues, we are purchasing each member a fitted MBUA hat. Ed Smallcomb has graciously volunteered to coordinate this effort. Matt Carlin has been selected the 2009 Boston Park League Umpire of the year. Matt received his award on Friday, Nov. 13th at Lantana's where the Park League held its 28th consecutive annual Hall of Fame Banquet. Matt Carlin now becomes the 13th SSUA umpire to win this award.
The South Shore Umpires Association will be holding a training class for new umpire candidates starting January 13, 2010. The class starts at 7 p.m. each night and will be held every Wednesday starting Jan 13. The meetings are held at Braintree High School in room 305. Cost of the class is $135. The Board of Directors has adopted the following policy regarding meeting attendance which is covered in Article 5 of the SSUA constitution: Article 3 requires each member to attend a minimum of 3 meetings. Please log into Members Only section to read full description of attendance requirements. This announcement was emailed to all SSUA members. If you did not receive it, please check your email address in the Members Only directory and send us appropriate updates.

Members MUST make at least 3 meetings.....
Meetings are held at Weymouth Elks. 1197 Washington Street (Rt. 53), E. Weymouth. @ 7:30 p.m. sharp.
Annual membership dues must be paid on or before first meeting. Late fee will be applied to dues not paid by then.
SSUA Objectives
To promote the game of
baseball by a uniform interpretation of the rules of baseball.
To safeguard the integrity of the game and promote
sportsmanship by way of training and instruction of this organizations
members.
To establish trust and respect for
individuals who umpire baseball games by training officials to
recognize and respect the interests of players, coaches, administrators
and fans associated with every league organization and school that is
serviced by this organizations members.
To
provide a proper forum for the purpose of open exchanges of ideas among
the members of this organization.
To provide
competent, knowledgeable, qualified individuals to administer the rules
of the game in a fair and impartial manner thereby instilling
confidence in the integrity of the game by the general public and all
players, coaches and league and/or school administrators.
