Copy of 2009 Preseason Info (This message was sent by email to all members.)

The 2009 meeting schedule has been determined and is as follows:
Meetings will be on February 11 & 25 and March 4, 11, and 25. The final 2009 meetings will be April 1, 15, and 29 with the business meeting including elections on April 29 (refreshments and pizza will be served).

The Board of Directors has adopted the following policy regarding meeting attendance which is covered in Article 5 of the SSUA constitution. Article 3 requires each member to attend a minimum of 3 meetings.

- Attendance at two meetings, 1 meeting short of requirement - $10
- Attendance at one meeting, 2 meetings short of requirement - $30
- Attendance at zero meetings, 3 meetings short of requirement - $60

Fines will be assessed immediately after the final meeting and due to the S/T by May 31. Failure to pay the fine by May 31 will subject the member to suspension from SSUA. Requests for waivers regarding meeting attendance must be submitted via email to the S/T by March 31.

Membership dues of $60.00 (Please see next paragraph regarding MIAA dues!) which have held steady for 10 years will be due on or before the first meeting. If dues are not paid by the first meeting there will be a $10.00 late fee after February 11. After March 11, the late fee will be $15.00. All assignors will be notified if dues are not paid by March 11, 2009. Checks for dues can be made payable to SSUA and sent to me at: 21 Solaris Road Hyde Park, MA. 02136.

The following information regarding MIAA dues has been added since the original email sent:
All assignors that service high school sports (INCLUDING varsity AND sub-varsity) will be required to use only MIAA enrolled officials. This is a change from the past where only officials working tournament games were required to enroll. So, if you are planning to work any type of high school baseball, you must include a $6 additional payment with your dues so that you will be MIAA enrolled by SSUA. If you chose to enroll yourself, the fee will be $12.

2009 SSUA dues with MIAA enrollment: $66
2009 SSUA dues not enrolled with MIAA $60 (not eligible to work high school)
